When practiced together, yoga helps increase flexibility and build core strength, making paddling easier and take-offs smoother. It also reduces the risk of injury by stretching the muscles used in surfing and improving joint stability.
Yoga enhances mindfulness and focus. Breathing exercises and meditation help you stay present in the water, better read the waves, and maintain calm when conditions change. A yoga session after surfing eases tension, accelerates recovery, and prepares you for the next day on the board.
